Well 2009 has been a year that has seen some truly epic events come to pass, Games Workshop have surpassed them selves and released some truly amazing plastic kits, books and models! Warmachine and Hordes has taken our city by storm, with all the factions from both systems having at least one play amongst our faithful gamers.
I joined the Gifts for Geeks team (decide for yourselves if that is to be celebrated
But above all of that, we have built a thriving gaming community with the shop at its heart; each and every one of you has played your part in making our gaming nights a success so much so that we now have two a week! Combine this with the Apocalypse games that take place once a month and you have a truly busy gaming schedule, but you all seem to keep up a fact that I am grateful of.
So 2009 draws to a close very soon but a new year more action packed than the last looms ever closer!
2010 will see us at Gifts for Geeks / Tabletop Tyrant continue our support of the Hordes and Warmachine community firstly with the release of the brand new Warmachine markII (Which I am proud to announce will be in store and available on the 6th January) and with the first of 2010 quarterly tournaments: February Throw down!
Games Workshop bring us firstly the Tyranids bursting form their Hive nests to take us hung over revelers by surprise as we sleep off the new years celebrations! Hot on their tails (Not to mention other less savory appendages) come the Beastmen of the old world, new plastics, new characters and a new book should see them storming the table tops.
Beyond that GW’s release schedule is pure conjecture, will the Dark Eldar finally get a new book? The Necrons? Will the Chaos Legions book finally get into print and make Ant a very happy man? Only time will tell…
With a new year we will (with some luck) see some new games enter the fray, already Dark Heresy, Rogue Trader and Rune Quest have already been added to our shelves, with Warhammer Fantasy Role Play joining them very shortly. With Uncharted Sea’s and Firestorm Armada eyeing up a place on our shelves, I expect no shortage of epic battles being fought across our tables through out the coming year.
So on behalf of the whole team, I would like to thank you all for the support you have given us in our events, the interest you have shown in our tournaments, especially those of you that only recently picked up Warmachine / Hordes.
A new year, new battles, new adversaries and new victories!
Thank you all.
Ross Geek Team.
